{"id":168758,"date":"2015-11-21T19:36:12","date_gmt":"2015-11-21T19:36:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=168758"},"modified":"2015-11-21T21:31:52","modified_gmt":"2015-11-21T21:31:52","slug":"ndcs-brogya-gyamfi-to-face-minority-leader-in-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=168758","title":{"rendered":"NDC\u2019s Brogya Gyamfi to face Minority Leader in 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A communicator of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Suame constituency of the Ashanti Region, Brogya Gyamfi, will face the Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu in the 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Provisional figures from the NDC\u2019s parliamentary primaries held nationwide today [Saturday], puts Mr. Gyamfi ahead of his contender, Francis Dodovi, a journalist.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Gyamfi, a vociferous member of the party in the Ashanti Region, had 685 votes while Francis Dodovi came close with 625.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-three votes were rejected.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Gyamfi will indeed face an uphill task against an experienced politician in a constituency traditionally known to be a safe seat for the NPP.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly two million party members voted on Saturday, to elect parliamentary candidates and endorse President Mahama\u2019s candidature for 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Voting has generally been smooth except for nearly twenty constituencies where voting was suspended and scheduled for Sunday November 22, due to disagreements and irregularities with the voters\u2019 register.<\/p>\n<p>Some 728 aspirants are contesting in the race.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Godwin A.
