{"id":168523,"date":"2015-11-21T09:55:54","date_gmt":"2015-11-21T09:55:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=168523"},"modified":"2015-11-21T10:08:47","modified_gmt":"2015-11-21T10:08:47","slug":"ndcdecides-kumbungu-aspirants-challenge-credibility-of-voters-register","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=168523","title":{"rendered":"#NDCDecides: Kumbungu aspirants challenge credibility of voters&#8217; register"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A standoff has rocked the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary primary in the Kumbungu constituency of the Northern Region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Three other contestants including Dr. Yakubu Hamza and a former Member of Parliament Alhaji Yakubu Imoro Kakpagu challenged the credibility of the compiled voters register.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They alleged that the register was doctored to favour Ras Mubarak.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Northern Regional NDC Secretary, Lawyer Rauf Khalid described the situation as a mere misunderstanding.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He assured them of fair resolution to enable the registered voters exercise their franchise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The incumbent Kumbungu MP, Amadu Moses Yahaya won the seat during a by-election on the ticket of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The election was conducted on April 30, 2013 during which the New Patriotic Party did not field a candidate and supported the CPP candidate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni vacated his seat and assumed office as Secretary General of the African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A standoff has rocked the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary primary in the Kumbungu constituency of the Northern Region.
