Undercover\u00a0journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has told Citi News<\/strong> he will feel \u201cvery terrible,\u201d if the over 30 judges and magistrates implicated\u00a0in his judicial corruption expos\u00e9 are found blameless and freed.<\/p>\n

Anas in an interview on the Citi Breakfast Show<\/strong> told the host Bernard Avle, that although he has confidence in the Chief Justice and the two-year investigations he did, he will\u00a0apologize to Ghanaians if the culprits are freed.<\/p>\n

Already, one of the judges has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the committee investigating them.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”WPaPaK7QgRmWvofE0YyoWwZApfBrWvxI”]Some of the judges and their lawyers are also in court to redeem their image, after they accused Anas of using unethical means to obtain the audio visual recording.<\/p>\n

When Bernard asked how he would feel if the judges are left off the hook at the end of the committee\u2019s work, Anas said \u201cI will feel every terrible if that happens and I will be prepared to apologize to the people of Ghana. And I will tell the judges to take me on because I would have dragged their name in the mud. But I am very confident that will not happen because I tested everything that I had and I was sure before I came out. And I am as curious as you are to know what will happen at the end of the day after these committee sittings. I can\u2019t wait for that to happen and that is why I am giving it my optimum best by attending all the sittings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anas says he will not be distracted by all the court suits and others, adding they are meant to derail the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlready I have heard rumours going round to suggest that now it is no more the President who sponsored me but rather the Chief Justice; all is nothing but red herrings. Chief Justice knew nothing about it until the very day I told her I had finished this work. So let\u2019s make sure everybody understands where I am coming from\u201d. All that is seeking to derail the process but I am focused. They are distractions but I call them health distractions,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Martin Amidu fracas<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anas Aremeyaw Anas appears to be battling for integrity, following allegations of impropriety levelled against him by an anti-corruption campaigner and former Attorney-General, Martin Amidu.<\/p>\n

Mr. Amidu has suggested that Anas is a government-agent operating an illegal entity, and had been selective with portions of his recent judiciary expos\u00e9 by protecting corrupt politicians.<\/p>\n

But Anas has denied all the allegations against him and his private investigative firm, TigereyePI, and demanded proof from Mr. Amidu.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have any idea that Uncle Amidu is corrupt; he still remains my Uncle. When I need something, I will go to him and ask him whether he gives me or not. I respect him as a senior statesman; he has been through a lot that I have not been through, but on this occasion like I keep saying, I don\u2019t think he had his facts right and pointing it out right to him is not disrespect; it\u2019s difference in opinion,\u201d he stated.
