Reigning artiste of the year at the 2015 Ghana Vodafone Music Awards, Stonebwoy, and rising songstress, Wiyaala, picked up awards for Ghana at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday night.<\/p>\n
The duo, from a list of Ghanaian contenders including Sarkodie and Efya, made the country proud when they won their categories at the event which was held at the Eko Hotel and suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.<\/p>\n
Stonebwoy and Wiyaala emerged winners of the \u2018Best African Reggae, Ragga & Dancehall\u2019 and \u2018Video of the Year\u2019 respectively.<\/p>\n
This is Noella Wiyaala\u2019s third AFRIMA award after she picked two awards in 2014, at the maiden edition of the awards also held in Lagos, Nigeria. She received two 23.9-carat gold-plated trophies for \u2018The Most Promising Artiste in Africa\u2019 and \u2018The Revelation of the African Continent\u2019 awards.<\/p>\n
Before Stonebwoy\u2019s first AFRIMA award on Sunday, he had also picked up three awards at the 2015 MTN 4Syte Music Video Awards at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday.<\/p>\n
He was adjudged \u2018Best Reggae\/Dancehall Video\u2019, \u2018Best Directed Video\u2019 and \u2018Most Influential Artiste\u2019.<\/p>\n
The 2015 AFRIMA awards, put together by the International Committee of All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, in partnership with African Union Commission (AUC), awards music excellence on the African continent.<\/p>\n
Apart from the two Ghanaians, some of this year\u2019s big winners, who also received 23.9 karat gold-plated trophies, included Tanzania\u2019s Diamond Platnumz and South Africa\u2019s Casper Nyovest.<\/p>\n
Diamond bagged Song of the Year and the coveted Artist of the Year awards while Casper Nyovest won the Best Male in South Africa and also the Best Artist in African Hip-Hop.<\/p>\n
