The Environmental Service Providers Association (ESPA) is asking government to allocate \u00a0400 million cedis for their services in the 2016 budget.<\/p>\n
They argue that without such an investment in the sanitation sector, the country\u2019s quest for a clean environment will only remain an illusion.<\/p>\n

She said \u201cGovernment should invest more to improve sanitation levels as well as the provision of the requisite infrastructure for effective refuse management. She says the happenings of June 3,\u00a0<\/span>2015 should serve as a wake-up call for government and stakeholders hence their request.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are pleading with the government to pay particular attention to the sanitation sector in the 2016 budget\u201d.<\/p>\n They also asked that some of the funds be allocated for infrastructure needed in the sanitation sector.<\/p>\n The Executive Secretary urged government to grant members of the Association \u201ctax exemption on the equipment they import into the country\u201d this she said will go a long way to help improve the sanitation situation in the country.
