{"id":165868,"date":"2015-11-10T16:22:13","date_gmt":"2015-11-10T16:22:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=165868"},"modified":"2015-11-10T15:50:49","modified_gmt":"2015-11-10T15:50:49","slug":"gregory-afokos-lawyers-angry-with-ag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=165868","title":{"rendered":"Gregory Afoko\u2019s lawyers angry with AG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lawyers for murder suspect Gregory Afoko have raised concerns about the Attorney General&#8217;s delay in presenting a bill of indictment against their client in the ongoing murder case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;wkbggKuzkswnKZxYaXGujZbVRmKjNAEE&#8221;]According to the lawyers, the delay is unfair to their client who they say is innocent of the charges brought against him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gregory Afoko, brother of the suspended NPP Chairman Paul Afoko, is facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder alongside two others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This was after they allegedly poured acid on the NPP\u2019s Upper East Regional Chairman Adam Mahama in May, leading to his death.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prosecution in the case said in September that the Police had completed its investigations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Superintendent of Police Francis Baah, the prosecutor, at the time had not sent a duplicate docket to the office of the Attorney General for advice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Ekow Ampah Korsah, who represented Afoko, told the court that, sending a duplicate docket to the Attorney General should not take them more than two weeks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Fred Djabanor\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lawyers for murder suspect Gregory Afoko have raised concerns about the Attorney General&#8217;s delay in presenting a bill of indictment against their client in the ongoing murder case.
