An online poll\u00a0conducted by Citi FM<\/strong> shows that about 72 percent of a cross section of Ghanaians are against the directive ordering tertiary students to pay their utility bills.<\/p>\n

The poll,which was conducted on a social media platform , Twitter, had 218 total votes with only 28 percent of the total votes supporting the directive and 72 percent opposing it.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Power Minister, Dr. Kwabena Donkor earlier announced that students in tertiary institution will be paying for their utility bills effective next year<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>but student leaders across the country say they will resist moves to enforce the directive.<\/p>\n

Despite the stiff opposition from the students, the Deputy Minister in charge of Tertiary Education Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa supports the Power Minister’s call.He however says government is yet to take a firm decision on the proposal.<\/p>\n
