{"id":164308,"date":"2015-11-04T05:38:51","date_gmt":"2015-11-04T05:38:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=164308"},"modified":"2015-11-04T05:38:51","modified_gmt":"2015-11-04T05:38:51","slug":"gnat-backs-ges-decision-to-sack-fake-teachers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=164308","title":{"rendered":"GNAT backs decision to sack fake teachers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) is backing the Ghana Education Service&#8217;s, (GES) decision to sack teachers working with fake certificates.<\/p>\n<p>The GES announced the decision to<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/11\/02\/ges-to-clamp-down-on-fake-teachers\/\" target=\"_blank\"> lay off hundreds of teacher<\/a><\/strong><\/span>s operating with fake certificates across the country.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;hsVx3u8Klwlbwl08vYeEwug5ANZLF2lg&#8221;]The decision follows an ongoing audit and verification of certificates and documents of teachers in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> on the development, the\u00a0General Secretary of GNAT, Mawunyo\u00a0Demenya, said the decision will bring sanity to the noble profession, adding that the Association will not spare any teacher found culpable.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you are using fake certificates, you don&#8217;t expect that a union will protect you.I don&#8217;t believe that anybody will support someone with a fake certificate,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>In a related development, the\u00a0Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Education Service, Rev. Jonathan Bettey has said the service should not be blamed for the influx of fake teachers in the education sector.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview on Eyewitness News, Rev.
