The youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has lambasted\u00a0the National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Sammy Awuku for predicting an imminent revolution<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in the country.<\/p>\n

Sammy Awuku in a Facebook post after the two-day forum on calls for a new voters\u2019 register raised concerns at the posture of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Charlotte Osei.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”t2p7yNi1NvCCOYZeliwRJLoKg14DpoI4″]\u201cBy her posture and utterances, the EC boss is setting the stage to deny the youth and the people of Ghana a new and credible voters register for the 2016 elections.\u00a0We will not sit down for our future to be toyed with. The cost of a new credible voters\u2019 register is cheaper than the cost of violence. Guess it\u2019s time for the Youth to Arise! We cannot afford to fail the masses in 2016. Youth Revolution imminent,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

But in their response, the NDC in a statement signed by its National Youth Organizer, Sidii Abubakar Musah\u00a0said\u00a0\u201cany attempt by Sammy Awuku and his Akuffo-Addo led handful of brigands and buccaneers to misbehave; SHALL be met with the due process of law!\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement added that \u201cno Youth Revolution is imminent: Ghana shall not die because of reckless Akuffo-Addo and Sammy Awuku!!\u201d<\/p>\n

The youth wing however said it was not surprised at the comments coming from the NPP\u2019s Youth Organizer since in the group’s view; the party(NPP) disgraced itself at the forum.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the end of the day; it has come to light that the NPP Flagbearer, Nana Akuffo-Addo and his Party have no case and instead of licking their wounds and hiding their shame; Sammy Awuku rather chooses to cowardly threaten mayhem.\u201d It further said.<\/p>\n

The two-day forum will enable the Electoral Commission assess the various arguments raised by the political parties and civil societies for or against a new voters\u2019 register prior to the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n

The NPP has presented a petition to the EC on the matter. In their view, the current register is flawed<\/a><\/strong><\/span> as it contains names of some foreigners as well as minors. The party has also advocated a new voters register which it believes is less expensive compared to auditing the current one.<\/p>\n

But the NDC maintains that the evidence presented by the opposition is unjustifiable<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei has reiterated the position of the Commission that its decision will be in the\u00a0best interest of the nation<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

The NDC Youth Wing is calling on the Security Agencies as well as all well-meaning Ghanaians to be alert and awake to the evil machinations of Akuffo-Addo; Sammy Awuku; and his handful of destructive followers.\u00a0 We must make it loud and clear that: Akuffo-Addo & Sammy Awuku SHALL not be allowed to kill innocent Ghanaians with “wormafunu”, just because of one man’s inordinate ambition to become President “at all cost”.<\/p>\n

Akuffo-Addo and belligerent Sammy Awuku, must concentrate on solving the wide divisions within the NPP and stop disturbing the ears of the majority of peace-loving Ghanaians.\u00a0 No Youth Revolution is imminent: Ghana Shall not die because of reckless Akuffo-Addo and Sammy Awuku!!<\/p>\n
