Prices of foodstuff have increased marginally in Ghanaian markets at the end of October 2015.<\/p>\n
The highest increase of 7 percent was made by tomato to close the week at an average price of GH\u00a2 9.00 per \u2018medium size tomato tin.\u201d<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”KYrbsNljZxgsCO8MxB1qtkubfItW3DqV”]This was followed by Yam (pona) with 4 percent gain in price to close the week at GH\u00a2 3.90 per medium size tuber. Maize and Cassava (fresh tubers) also followed with 3 percent gain each.<\/p>\n
Both closed the week at GH\u00a2 4.30 and 3.50 per olunka and per 3-4 tubers respectively.<\/p>\n
Soybean also gained 2 percent to close the week at GH\u00a2 6.80 per olunka and Millet dropped 4 percentage to close at an average price of GH\u00a2 4.90 per olunka. The other commodity prices remained the same.<\/p>\n
On the various markets, the price for an \u201colunka\u201d of maize gained by 25 percent in Dambai to close the week at GH\u00a2 5.00 whiles in the other markets the price remained the same.<\/p>\n
According to Esoko Ghana a medium size tomato tin full of fresh tomatoes lost 43 percent in Dambai to close the week at GH\u00a2 3.10.<\/p>\n
The commodity however made gains in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi.<\/p>\n
In Accra, it gained 17 percent to close at GH\u00a2 10.80.<\/p>\n
Kumasi and Takoradi both gained 25 percent each to close the week at GH\u00a2 7.20 and GH\u00a2 18.00 respectively.<\/p>\n
In the other markets, the prices remained the same.<\/p>\n
