{"id":157035,"date":"2015-10-03T19:50:33","date_gmt":"2015-10-03T19:50:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=157035"},"modified":"2015-10-03T19:58:46","modified_gmt":"2015-10-03T19:58:46","slug":"tv3s-nana-aba-suspended-for-tweeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=157035","title":{"rendered":"TV3&#8217;s Nana Aba suspended for &#8216;tweeting&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Popular TV presenter, Nana Aba Anamoah&#8217;s supposed &#8220;prank&#8221; on Twitter last week, has really turned out to be an expensive one, as her employer TV3, has decided to suspend her &#8220;until further notice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to sources close to the station, the management felt embarrassed following the social media frenzy and subsequent media reportage on Nana Aba&#8217;s\u00a0trolling on Twitter and other social media platforms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A disciplinary committee was subsequently set up by TV3 to look into the matter while the board of the company also thoroughly discussed it at a meeting on Friday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nana Aba explained to the management that the owner of the pictures sent the photos to her which she tweeted to suggest that she was at Old Trafford but indeed she was not.<\/p>\n<p>Independent checks by the management confirmed Nana Aba&#8217;s explanations but they still felt the turn of events put the company in a bad light, hence the suspension.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;b4mvAWCw9fR97GyznJbrtFCGmslF051Y&#8221;]A statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of TV3, Mr. Augustus Dickson, stated that \u201cafter preliminary investigations internally, and in accordance with TV3\u2019s own commitment to the highest level of professionalism, management has decided to take Nana Aba Anamoah off air until further notice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a broadcast network that prides itself in upholding high ethical standards and delivering credible and trustworthy content to its viewers, TV3 would like to assure viewers and other key stakeholders that it shall continue to take all necessary steps to maintain such standards,\u201d the statement noted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For two consecutive days, Nana Aba trended on Twitter as followers mocked her and photo-shopped her images into different photo scenarios.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Young ; Did u see nanaaba ? Absolutely not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nana Aba also clarified that she was only joking when she tweeted the said photos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSorry to all who got offended by that joke.
