I am happy to announce that across board public sector workers will enjoy 10 percent increase in basic salary on the Single Spine Pay Policy on a relativity of 1.7%,\u201d said the Minister.<\/p>\n
He added that\u00a0the increment takes effect from January 2016.<\/p>\n
He said government will ensure that both public and private companies, comply with the new increment adding that \u201cEmployers, private and public must ensure strict compliance to the new directive.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Minister described government\u2019s move to increase both the daily minimum wage and salaries of public sector workers as a \u201chistoric feat,\u201d adding that \u201cgovernment has been unable to achieve that in many years.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to him, government has also finalised negotiations on category 2 and 3 allowances for public sector workers who are on the Single Spine Pay Policy.<\/p>\n
