Government has agreed to pay the National Association of Graduate Teacher\u2019s (NAGRAT) and Coalition of Concern Teachers (CTT) their incremental arrears within the next ten days.<\/p>\n
This was after a crunch meeting between the two bodies and government on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Citi News’<\/strong> Franklin Badu Jnr reported that the teachers were represented by the \u201cCCT and NAGRAT but GNAT was absent.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that “government has committed itself to pay all monies owed every teacher in ten days and an MoU has been signed to that effect.”<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”638wREtSkyWvSkK3QXUXa9UdEFxdOy2B”]He said the signing was witnessed by the Minister of Employement and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu and the Director of the Fair Wages and the Salaries Commission, Mr. Smith Graham.<\/p>\n Earlier the National Executives of the National Association of NAGRAT, endorsed the planned strike by some of its members.<\/p>\n The Greater Accra and Ashanti regional branches served notice of \u00a0the\u00a0intended strike if<\/a><\/strong><\/span> government failed to pay allowances http:\/\/premier-pharmacy.com\/product\/ambien\/<\/a> which have been in arrears for several months.<\/p>\n Angel Carbonu warned; \u201cwe will not take any flimsy assurance\u201d from government \u201cif is not based on any concrete evidence that the monies have been reviewed,\u201d and the payment procedure started.<\/p>\n He maintains that the Association has adopted that action because the institutions involved in addressing their grievances have been \u201clackadaisical.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe do not see any serious commitment on their part and if they have been serious and committed, we wouldn\u2019t have gotten to this point,\u201d added the NAGRAT\u2019s Vice president.<\/p>\n Volta Region<\/strong><\/p>\n In the Volta Region, members of the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) and the graduate teachers in the region gave government a 24-hour ultimatum to pay up all their allowances or face their wrath.<\/p>\n Brong Ahafo <\/strong><\/p>\n Citi News<\/strong> Brong Ahafo Regional Correspondent, Kwadwo Brefo reported that the NAGRAT branch there also threatened strike.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
