97.3 Citi FM has declared the month of May the family month. In line with the declaration, the station would run some family-focused programming, promotions and events throughout the month of May. These unique activities will seek to foster family cohesion and provide quality family information, education and entertainment to its listeners, giving families a comprehensive approach to tackling everyday challenges.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the official launch of the event on the Citi Breakfast Show, Jessica Opare \u2013 Saforo said that \u2018the essence of the family month is to\u00a0 recognize the need for the promotion of unity and preservation of families, especially as many countries around the world will be celebrating the United Nations International Day of Families on the 15th<\/sup> of May<\/b>. Citi FM has decided to not just make it a one day celebration but to extend the celebration of Ghanaian families to a month long activity\u2019.<\/p>\n Activities for the Family Month begin officially on Thursday 1st<\/sup> May at the Winners Chapel with the Family Consecration service<\/b>. The service would bring hundreds of families together to thank God and ask for further blessings for the rest of the year. Spearheaded by Citi FM\u2019s \u00a0\u2018This is your day\u2019 team – Pastor Steven Yenusom Wengham and Pastor Freddie MacDavies – the service would be biggest family-centered prayer experience of its kind this year.<\/p>\n Citi FM recognizes the sacrifices of mothers as we celebrate mothers\u2019 day with a special \u00a0Cook For Mama <\/i><\/b>competition \u2013 a promotion specifically designed to celebrate mothers ahead of mother\u2019s day which falls on Sunday 11th<\/sup> May. The event would see a proud mother walk away with a GHc 3000 cash prize and souvenirs after heads of families engage in a culinary challenge.<\/p>\n Other activities lined up for the month, include:<\/p>\n –\u00a0 The Family Finance Series: <\/b>it would air on the Citi Breakfast Show daily for the entire duration of the month. Listeners would get quality insights into managing family finances to ensure stability and growth. The 15-minute segment would have some of the most accomplished family finance experts share their in-depth knowledge and offer realistic solutions to pertinent financial challenges families face in peculiar situations. This series will also encompass aspects of family law in a bid to minimize conflicts and\u00a0 help preserve the family.<\/p>\n –\u00a0 The Family Fun Day Out – <\/b>The whole month would be climaxed with the family fun day out. It will be a special day for families to spend quality time, get together and have some family fun at the serene Rufus Green Park,<\/b> in Katamanso \u2013 near Regimanuel Grey Estate off the Dodowa road.
