{"id":148910,"date":"2015-09-04T17:11:33","date_gmt":"2015-09-04T17:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=148910"},"modified":"2015-09-05T06:14:09","modified_gmt":"2015-09-05T06:14:09","slug":"mahama-gunman-remains-in-bni-custody","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=148910","title":{"rendered":"Mahama gunman remains in BNI custody"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Charles Antwi, the man who confessed he planned to assassinate President Mahama, is still in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), despite a court ruling which that he should be taken \u00a0for him to be released to the Psychiatric Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;KOpD2a2JcMwBlX4GhuLCDvzVteS6D2f1&#8243;]An Accra Human Rights court <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/08\/31\/court-orders-release-of-mahamas-gunman-from-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\">freed<\/a><\/span><\/strong> Charles Antwi following an appeal by human rights lawyer, Xavier Sosu who insisted that the self confessed gunman was wrongfully prosecuted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An Accra Circuit Court presided over by Justice Francis Obiri, sentenced Charles Antwi to <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/07\/28\/gunman-in-mahamas-church-jailed-10-years\/\" target=\"_blank\">10 years imprisonment<\/a> <\/span><\/strong>for the illegal possession of a fully loaded locally manufactured gun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile the Chief Psychiatrist, Dr. Akwesi Osei has requested\u00a0for improved security at the hospital to enable them keep\u00a0Charles Antwi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Communication Director at FX Law and Associates, Alex Kodzo Missadji said Charles Antwi was still a threat to himself and society, hence the need to hold him at the BNI,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;&#8230;Because of the threat that he poses to the number one gentleman of the country, it is advised that there is a close watch on him,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Pius Amihere Eduku\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Charles Antwi, the man who confessed he planned to assassinate President Mahama, is still in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), despite a court ruling which that he should be taken \u00a0for him to be released to the Psychiatric Hospital for treatment.
