The residents engaged in a scuffle with some security personnel who accompanied the demolition team.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”L94lXwnqkgORkGYIWl72epW4mrF9pdZf”]Although the police are yet to confirm the death, the Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, ACP Joseph Oklu told Citi News<\/strong> the investigations will enable them identify the actual cause of the disruptions.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s only three people that we have information that they were injured, as\u00a0far as we know, there is nobody dead as at now, we are now conducting investigations into the matter,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe heard of the problem about people being disgruntled over there, we went there to restore calm and we are now trying to find out what led to whatever happened over there, give us a little bit of time to conduct a little bit of investigation so we can give you a concrete information as to whatever transpired over there,\u201d ACP Joseph Oklu added.<\/p>\n Meanwhile a resident who narrated the incident to Citi News<\/strong> attributed the clashes to a misunderstanding between the residents and the security personnel after they(residents) demanded a court permit for the demolition.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I know in Ghana is that any demolition should be backed by a court order, you cannot just lord yourself on people you accuse to be encroachers just because you own the parcel of land. That is why we also resisted,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/a>
