Gyamfi dies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ghana football legend Charles Kumi Gyamfi has passed away at the age of 86.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He died at the Cocoa clinic this morning after a long illness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">C.K. Gyamfi as he was popularly called was not only a player of the Black Stars in the late 50\u2019s but coached Ghana to win three African nation cup titles namely 1963, 1965 and 1982.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Kumi Gyamfi a retired Ghanaian footballer was remarkable for being the first African player to play in Germany, when he joined Fortuna D\u00fcsseldorf in 1960.<\/p>\n<p>After retiring as a player he became a coach, and career highlights include leading Ghana to the African Cup of Nations three times, making him the most successful coach in ACN history.<\/p>\n<p>This record has since been equalled by Egypt&#8217;s Hassan Shehata.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2008 he publicly lamented the modern obsession of players with money rather than the love of the game.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Football Association (GFA)\u00a0said it is &#8220;immensely hurt by the loss of such a talented footballer and coach who shaped the lives and careers of many Ghanaian footballers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">It&#8217;s with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of the legendary Ghanaian coach and footballer C.K.
