{"id":147416,"date":"2015-08-30T09:47:33","date_gmt":"2015-08-30T09:47:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=147416"},"modified":"2015-08-30T09:55:22","modified_gmt":"2015-08-30T09:55:22","slug":"over-100-people-displaced-by-tidal-waves-in-keta-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=147416","title":{"rendered":"Over 100 people displaced by tidal waves in Keta [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over 100 residents of\u00a0Fuvemeh, in the Volta Regional town of Keta have been displaced as result of tidal waves that swept through the village on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The waves, which are reported to have begun late in the afternoon, are believed to have destroyed about 50 houses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sport.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Ahuq70PjkAXMNig8WwLzWlA52ZCCJuu2Wsm_kaKnlP7T.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48403\" src=\"http:\/\/sport.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Ahuq70PjkAXMNig8WwLzWlA52ZCCJuu2Wsm_kaKnlP7T.jpg\" alt=\"Keta Tidal Waves\" width=\"500\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A resident in the area, Frank Torblu\u00a0told <strong>Citi News<\/strong>: &#8220;The situation is very dangerous, The sea is washing away many houses from the place.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48408\" src=\"http:\/\/sport.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/AtM7Wu6CMTSHeIAaYj0h4ZVmdkKilvx19gcIBpeDXfag.jpg\" alt=\"Keta Tidal Waves\" width=\"537\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There have been no reports of human casualties so far\u00a0but\u00a0the residents, fearing that other villages might be at risk, have appealed to the National Disaster Management Organization to come to their aid.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No life has been lost. The disaster happened during the day and the people had time to relocate.
