When some unexpected names popped up to be contesting in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries, it got the whole nation talking.<\/p>\n

However the sheer number of names and caliber of people eyeing various Parliamentary seats in the\u00a0governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), is also tickling the fancy of many political watchers.<\/p>\n

Former President Jerry Rawlings’ daughter\u00a0Dr. Ezenator Rawlings is said to have declared her intentions to contest the Korle Klottey constituency in the Greater Accra Region.<\/p>\n

She, in an earlier interview with Citi News\u00a0<\/strong>debunked growing reports that she was looking to actively enter politics but sources deep within the Rawlings family have confirmed she is most likely to contest.<\/p>\n

Popular TV presenter Seth Kwame Dzokoto is eyeing\u00a0the Takwa Nsuayem seat in the Western Region.<\/p>\n

Sam Fletcher is also hoping to enter Parliament to serve in former MP Ama Benyiwa Doe’s constituency, Gomoa West in the Central Region.<\/p>\n

Sam ‘Dzata’ George will be daring veteran ET Mensah who has been the MP for Ningo Prampram since 1996.<\/p>\n

When Sam George was asked on the Citi Breakfast Show\u00a0<\/strong>on Thursday about his chances against ET Mensah, he said in Ga (local language), “I’ll face him squarely and will beat him.”<\/p>\n

Francis-Xavier Sosu is popular for his human rights cases and recently went to court challenging the incarceration of Charles Antwi who confessed in open court that he wanted to kill President Mahama.<\/p>\n

“I have a dream to give a new meaning to leadership. I want to get involved in redefining politics in Madina and for that matter Ghana,” he posted on his Facebook wall.<\/p>\n

Ras Mubarak has made an interesting turn in his ambition to enter Parliament.<\/p>\n

After losing the Ablekuma North constituency in the 2012 elections, he is now vying\u00a0for the Kumbungu seat.<\/p>\n

A Deputy Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu is replacing Ras Mubarak for theh NDC in the Ablekuma North constituency.<\/p>\n

The Acting Executive Director for the National Service Secretariat Dr Kpesah Whyte is also looking to contest in the Shai Osu Doku constituency.<\/p>\n
