A complaint was initially lodged by the victim’s mother against her husband and his accomplice in May 2012, it was reported by\u00a0The Press Trust of India.<\/p>\n
The judge said the ‘accused, despite being the father of the victim, has not only sexually assaulted her but also allowed another boy to sexually abuse his daughter.’<\/p>\n
The father, who has not been named, and his accomplice, Akash, 20,\u00a0were also fined Rs 5,000 (\u00a350) each and ordered to pay the victim Rs 100,000 (\u00a3970) in compensation.<\/p>\n
‘The concept of welfare and well-being of children is basic for any civilised society and this has a direct bearing on the state of health and well-being of the entire community, its growth and development,’ the court said.<\/p>\n
The pair were convicted based on testimony from the victim and a medical report which showed she had been raped.<\/p>\n
‘In the present case, the victim has been consistent on the material particulars with regard to the incident of sexual assault on her,’ the report said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
