{"id":146251,"date":"2015-08-25T14:11:07","date_gmt":"2015-08-25T14:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=146251"},"modified":"2015-08-25T18:26:25","modified_gmt":"2015-08-25T18:26:25","slug":"dumsor-will-only-end-in-4-years-nduom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=146251","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Dumsor&#8217; will only end in 4 years &#8211; Nduom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despite assurances from President John Mahama that his administration will <strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/08\/16\/mahama-reassures-ghanaians-he-will-fix-dumsor\/\" target=\"_blank\">permanently solve<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0the recurring power crisis by the end of 2015, the flagbearer of the Progressive People\u2019s Party, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom is arguing that the enormity of the problem will require about four years to rectify.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to him, although interventions made by the government in addressing these issues are commendable, they are not likely to solve the entire problem by December.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;GQDbumvb4ueqgKrHvpqbgH6KykBtFoyf&#8221;]Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom was speaking on the <strong>Citi Breakfast Show<\/strong>,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAll these projects are good projects, nothing wrong with them, they are good projects, but I am saying they will not solve the problems this year and a number of them will not be completed this year,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSo I am still telling you if we start doing the right thing today and I\u2019m talking of January 1<sup>st<\/sup> 2015,it will take us four years,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile the sector minister, Dr. Kwabena Donkor has promised to <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/16\/will-end-dumsor-power-minister-designate\/\" target=\"_blank\">resign<\/a><\/strong><\/span> if the energy crisis continues after 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many businesses have had to take major management decisions, including sacking hundreds to stay in business.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Others have also completely shut down their businesses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Nduom advocated for a complete overhaul of the current distribution process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSome of these infrastructure such as transformers have been there since the 1970s and 1980s they need to be replaced, they need to be modernized and it takes billions of dollars to get things done.
