The Bambawiya Islamic Society headquartered in the Northern Regional capital Tamale has eulogized the National Chief Imam, Dr. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu.<\/p>\n

Dr. Sheikh Sharabutu was honored at a special occasion at Sagnarigu, a suburb of Tamale marking the 18th Anniversary of the society\u2019s existence.<\/p>\n

He received a noble prize and other goodies for his exemplary leadership at local and international levels.<\/p>\n

Convener of the awards ceremony and spiritual leader of the Bambawiya Islamic Society, Hujatul Islam-Sheikh Lukman Bamba commended the National Chief Imam for his contribution to national cohesion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, the National Chief Imam is a symbol of peace as is known to everybody and his contributions to building national cohesion cannot be underestimated.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stressed, \u201cDr. Nuhu Sharabutu\u2019s leadership has deepened inter-religious dialogue between the Ghanaian Muslim community and other religious sects.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheikh Lukman Bamba implored the youth to follow the National Chief Imam\u2019s footprint and abstain from petty squabbles especially in the Muslim communities.<\/p>\n

He admonished Muslim parents and guardians to invest in their children\u2019s education.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am calling on all Muslims especially Muslim parents to place premium on their children\u2019s education that will enhance development for them and the nation at large.\u201d
\nThis in Sheikh Lukman Bamba\u2019s estimation could brighten the under-developed Zongo communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of the surest ways we can produce scholars to uplift the under-developed communities in Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also advised the Muslim youth to shun self seeking politicians who usually use them as conduit to cause mayhem in the Zongo communities during general elections.
\nOn health, Sheikh Lukman Bamba bemoaned the Doctors strike and pleaded with them to return to work.<\/p>\n

He equally tasked government to return to the negotiating table with leadership of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA).<\/p>\n

Ghana\u2019s former Ambassador to Senegal and currently occupant of the Sagnarigu skin, Sagnari-Naa Yakubu Abdulai impressed upon the clergy to continue praying for the nation\u2019s peace.<\/p>\n

He described religious leaders as the backbone of every society\u2019s progress for which reason they must be accorded the necessary respect.<\/p>\n

Dr. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu thanked the Bambawiya Islamic Society for the honor.<\/p>\n

He prayed for the nation\u2019s tranquility and reiterated the need for peaceful co-existence.<\/p>\n

Leader of the Tijaniya Muslim community in Ghana, Sheikh Yahayal Amin advised Muslims to eschew violence and hatred in their localities.<\/p>\n

He further impressed upon Muslims to kick against activities which might endanger human security.<\/p>\n

Muslims from all walks of life including the Northern Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Alhaji Abdul Salam Abubakari and a high powered delegation from the office of the National Chief Imam graced the occasion.<\/p>\n
