The Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) have suspended their strike.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”HA4tUAV2xlh1PFpyGLwmnado1f8xW6AY”]According to GHOSPA, they will resume services at emergency units but will not offer services to Outpatients Departments (OPDs).<\/p>\n
GHOSPA withdrew its services at various hospitals last week over unresolved issues with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission over conversion differences after migration unto the Single Spine Salary Structure.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the recent development, National Chairman of GHOSPA, Stephen Corquaye indicated that their decision was as a result of the goodwill they have in Government to resolve their concerns.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Chief of Staff gave us assurance that within the week they will deal with this matter but we told them that we don\u2019t take the final decision and that we will go back and discuss with our members. Before that, we have had a letter from Chief of Staff that was going to set us back.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEventually we decided that we are going to go on a partial strike and wait for the Chief of staff\u2019s response. His response was supposed to come after we started our partial strike. We never heard from him until quite recently when the parliamentary select committee intervened…and we told them that because of the goodwill we will not scale up the strike. The partial strike meaning that we are not going to provide services to outpatients and weekend services and night services is still on,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Government had earlier announced that public sectors workers on strike<\/span> will not be paid<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n It\u00a0issued a directive to \u201call heads of government establishments where workers have embarked on illegal (partial or full) strike actions to compile and submit to their respective Ministers of State the list of workers who have been absenting themselves from work as a result of a strike or protest.\u201d<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
