Men who like to play the field will be happy to hear that new research suggests better orgasms are had when a new woman is involved.<\/p>\n
The study, which appeared in Evolutionary Psychological Science, found that men ejaculated more, for a longer time and more quickly after \u2018beginning\u2019 when they watched a video with an unknown female in it.<\/p>\n
The quicker part might explain that awkward \u2018this never usually happens\u2019 thing with a new partner.<\/p>\n
To find this out, 23 men between the ages of 18 and 23, who identified as heterosexual, got their jollies on every 48 hours over the course of two weeks.<\/p>\n
All in the noble pursuit of science of course. And the science was quite thorough:<\/p>\n
For the first six times, the participants watched videos with the same male and female getting it on, but in different scenarios each time to keep things from getting boring.<\/p>\n
The men\u2019s sperm count and volume stayed pretty much the same each time.<\/p>\n
Then on the seventh session, the guys were treated to a video with the same male actor, but a new woman was on the scene.<\/p>\n
Everyone basically lost their minds and came quicker, harder and stronger than all the times before.<\/p>\n
The scientists think this happens for two main reasons:<\/p>\n
Firstly, if a woman\u2019s been having sex with one partner for a long time it\u2019s more likely her egg\u2019s been fertilised. Job done.<\/p>\n
Secondly, a new female is more likely to recently have had sex with a male partner who isn\u2019t you. Apparently, this competition with another male gets guys off.<\/p>\n
But it\u2019s worth bearing in mind that the scientists weren\u2019t suggesting that everyone should have a ton of casual sex (though by all means do if that\u2019s what you\u2019re in to).<\/p>\n
Their findings mean that when looking at male infertility, watching a porn video with a new woman in it might help couples struggling to conceive have a baby.<\/p>\n
Quite sweet really.<\/p>\n
