Police in Bawku have arrested a 31 year old cocoa farmer from Bawku, Dramani Azuri living in Afigyasi in the Ashanti region.<\/p>\n
He was arrested for allegedly defiling a 13 year old pupil of the Bawku Wataniya English and Arabic Primary School.<\/p>\n
The alleged rapist was reported to have committed the crime when the victim visited her Auntie at Afigyasi in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n
A teacher from the victim\u2019s school, Mr. Abugri Dominick Asana told Citi News, he masterminded Dramani Azuri\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n
He said the victim was allegedly raped by Dramani Azuri on March 20th, 2014.<\/p>\n
According to him, the suspect attempted to coerce the victim\u2019s family to amicably settle the matter.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was true the man called saying that he wanted to settle it the local way so I also made some psychology with the parents who invited him and I sent some police for his arrest.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said the suspect had been transferred to Afigyasi for trial.<\/p>\n
