{"id":140651,"date":"2015-08-04T18:48:07","date_gmt":"2015-08-04T18:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=140651"},"modified":"2015-08-04T18:48:07","modified_gmt":"2015-08-04T18:48:07","slug":"we-didnt-leak-doctors-conditions-of-service-haruna-iddrisu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=140651","title":{"rendered":"We \u00a0didn\u2019t leak doctors\u2019 conditions of service \u2013 Haruna Iddrisu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu has rejected claims that government leaked a <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/08\/01\/leaked-gmas-list-of-demands-for-doctors\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>conditions of service document<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>which was tabled before them by the Ghana Medical Association (GMA).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;Fvf0Q5cyYDtg4Co27J46t2x6SfukS1eH&#8221;]The angry doctors say government deliberately leaked and inflated the some of their demands to generate disaffection against the doctors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Responding to the claims on <strong>Eyewitness News<\/strong>, Haruna Iddrisu noted that such practices are unfair labour practices but said \u201cthose developments are not attributable to government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A presidential staffer Stan Dogbe published the details of the said demands on Facebook but the Minister\u00a0insisted that government cannot take responsibility for such claims.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt\u2019s not an official government position; we don\u2019t relate to someone\u2019s wall and declare that as a representative of the position of government. The doctors have reported that strongly to me expressing their disappointment and disquiet on that matter. I have accordingly conveyed my position them and what is important for me is to deal with the substance of the issues before us,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Haruna Iddrisu further explained that \u201cwe\u2019ve urged them [doctors] to <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/08\/03\/call-off-the-illegal-strike-now-govt-to-doctors\/\" target=\"_blank\">call off the strike<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>as we continue to negotiate because we don\u2019t want negotiations to be done in an environment that is not free from coercion, free from intimidation and free from strike. I think that we should treat each other fairly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a related development, Haruna Iddrisu also called on the other health sector workers on strike including GHOSPA and psychiatric nurses to also call off their strike.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Godwin A.
