His Excellency Roland Issifu Alhassan has been laid to arrest in his hometown, Kumbungu in the northern region.<\/p>\n
The former Ghana Ambassador to Germany during former President Kuffour\u2019s administration died on Monday at the 37 Military Hospital after short illness.<\/p>\n
His body was airlifted to Tamale for onward burial in his hometown, Kumbungu.<\/p>\n
Northern Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sule Salifu told Citi News hundreds of people from all walks of life attended the burial ceremony.<\/p>\n
According to him, two-time vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia accompanied by the party\u2019s national Chairman, Mr Paul Afoko led a high powered NPP delegation to witness the burial.<\/p>\n
The late R.I Alhassan\u2019s three days (Adua) will be observed in Kumbungu on Thursday, April 17 after which the final funeral arrangement will be determined.<\/p>\n
His Excellency Roland Issifu Alhassan was the first northerner to be called to the Bar.<\/p>\n
He was also running mate to the late Professor Adu Boahene in 1992.<\/p>\n
He was married to a German woman who is operating a private school called Alhassan Gbanzaba Memorial School in Sagnarigu.<\/p>\n
