Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has become the first footballer and European athlete to join Jay Z\u2019s label \u2018Roc Nation Sports\u2019.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old celebrated signing the deal at Jay Z\u2019s sports bar the \u201940\/40 club\u2019 in Brooklyn before continuing the party at the rap star\u2019s private villa.<\/p>\n
\u2018I took my sister and my best friend,\u2019 Boateng told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag. \u2018It was a great day with Jay Z. We could ask him anything.<\/p>\n
\u2018We mostly talked about music and football. Jay Z knows about football and has watched numerous games.<\/p>\n
\u2018America is a big market. With Jay-Z and Roc Nation I have a lot, we want to try what is possible.\u2019<\/p>\n
Boateng joins a growing list of other sports stars to sign for Jay Z\u2019s label, including boxers Andre Ward and Miguel Cotto, baseball player Erick Aybar and NBA player James Young and women\u2019s basketball star Skylar Diggins.<\/p>\n
Boateng has played for Bayern Munich since 2011 after joining from Manchester City, winning three Bundesliga titles, two German cups and the Champions League during his time with the club.<\/p>\n
He has recently been with Pep Guardiola\u2019s squad in the Far East, where they beat Inter Milan 1-0 in Shanghai last Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Bayern kick-off their campaign against Wolfsburg in the German Super Cup this Saturday, before their Bundesliga campaign begins two weeks later at home to Hamburg.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old also has 52 caps for Germany, and was part of the side that won the World Cup in Brazil last summer.<\/p>\n
