I\u2019m not just talking about a current boyfriend; I\u2019m talking about the ex, or the guy who didn\u2019t call back. If you\u2019re trying to impress a guy, leave the other guys out.\u00a0Best case scenario, you\u2019re talking about us next. Worst case? He\u2019s better than us.<\/p>\n

2. She talks about food, but doesn\u2019t eat it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Men like women who like\u00a0food; men also like women who are in good shape. Yes, men know they\u2019re somewhat incompatible. So, if you\u2019re going to talk about food, then eat it, too!<\/p>\n

Or, don\u2019t talk about it at all and order a salad. Don\u2019t be the skinny person who brags about how \u201cbadly\u201d they eat, because men know you\u2019re lying.<\/p>\n

3. She holds back what she really wants to say.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Men like a woman who knows what she wants. If you\u2019re holding back telling him what movie you want to see because you\u2019re worried he\u2019ll hate you, he probably doesn\u2019t want to see anything<\/em>with you. Because who worries what a lame guy like him thinks?<\/p>\n

4. She tries to change him.<\/strong><\/p>\n

No one\u2019s perfect. Everyone needs to grow, and especially early on. If you want him to be a different guy, then just find a different guy. It\u2019s as easy as that.<\/p>\n

5. She talks a LOT of sh*t.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We all gossip about our friends, there\u2019s no doubt about that.\u00a0He should probably think your friends are cool, but if you portray your friends as not-so-great, what does that say about you?<\/p>\n

6. She\u2019s super-judgmental.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t like the restaurant? Don\u2019t like the waiter? Don\u2019t like the way the girl at the bar talked to you? Fine. Do you like anything<\/em>?<\/p>\n

7. She lacks\u00a0confidence. And it shows.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If he\u2019s\u00a0already out on a date with you, he thinks you\u2019re cool. Please, don\u2019t try to cover up or hide yourself. I promise you, men want to know you. And if they\u00a0don\u2019t, you don\u2019t want to know them.<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0She continuously apologizes for no reason.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please apologize if you accidentally spit on me, or dump red wine on me. That\u2019s just polite. But whoever convinced you that you need to apologize for anything and everything is a dick. And men don\u2019t want to feel like you\u2019ll be apologizing for them later.<\/p>\n

9.\u00a0She\u2019s looking for love<\/a>, but acting like it\u2019s a job interview.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My best relationships all defied my expectations. But this conversation always feels like a negotiation. Men are looking for a relationship, not a job. Save it for when you interview personal assistants.<\/p>\n
