A former flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Alan Kyeremanteng has discounted claims that Nana Akufo Addo\u2019s seeming popularity within the party makes him the best option ahead of 2016.<\/p>\n
According to Mr. Kyeremanteng, Akufo- Addo\u2019s strong positioning within the party, \u201cis not necessarily a reflection of what will help the party gain power in 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr. Kyeremanteng in that regard advised the party to rather find other means of helping it gain power saying \u201clet us use every means available to try and find out exactly what will give us power\u201d<\/p>\n
He \u00a0also urged the party to do a soul searching as to why it lost the general elections in 2012 and attempt rectifying it.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf a formidable party such as ours loses two successive elections which we should have won by any stretch of imagination, something must be wrong and we should be bold enough to interrogate that.<\/p>\n
You cannot do things the same way and expect different results. Let\u2019s interrogate why we lost. If we interrogate why we lost, that provides us with some clue as to what we need to do differently,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Alan Kyeremanteng, the former Trade Minister under the Kufuor Administration has lost twice to Nana Addo in his bid to become the NPP ‘s flagbearer.<\/p>\n
