{"id":136544,"date":"2015-07-22T11:00:54","date_gmt":"2015-07-22T11:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=136544"},"modified":"2015-07-22T09:38:29","modified_gmt":"2015-07-22T09:38:29","slug":"woman-dies-while-bungee-jumping-in-spain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=136544","title":{"rendered":"Woman dies while bungee jumping in Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">A woman from London has died while bungee jumping in Granada, Spanish police have said.<\/p>\n<p>Klyo De Abreu, 23, was killed at about 15:00 BST on Tuesday in Lanjaron, according to the Guardia Civil.<\/p>\n<p>Her aunt had been watching her take part in the jump from the Tablate Bridge &#8220;when the tragedy occurred&#8221;, a police spokesman said.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Office said it was &#8220;urgently looking into reports of the death of a British national in Spain&#8221;.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media-landscape full-width has-caption\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"js-image-replace\" src=\"http:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/cpsprodpb\/11829\/production\/_84412717_84412710.jpg\" alt=\"Aerial view of Lanjaron, Granada\" width=\"624\" height=\"351\" \/><figcaption class=\"media-caption\"><span class=\"media-caption__text\">It is believed the woman had been staying with her aunt in Lanjaron, Granada<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A spokesman for the Guardia Civil said: &#8220;Although it is too early to draw any conclusions about the circumstances of the death, one of the lines of inquiry is that there was a miscalculation with the rope.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Seaside Gazette reported the woman had hit the side of the bridge causing fatal head injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The Guardia Civil is trying to ascertain whether or not she had jumped with an adventure sports company.<\/p>\n<p>Tablate Bridge has a drop of 80m and is a popular bungee jumping site used by several adventure sports firms.<\/p>\n<p>Bungee jumpers fall for about 20m and swing underneath the bridge, with a first jump offered for about 35 euros.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: BBC<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A woman from London has died while bungee jumping in Granada, Spanish police have said.
