The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection is finalizing a Child Justice Policy to help promote the rights of children in the country.<\/p>\n
This was revealed by the Minister Nana Oye Lithur at the launch of the child and family welfare policy in Accra.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”pFyigmymXtdKnELJueFPhIMShtmELQ1h”]She indicated that \u201cthe <\/span>policy will principally cater for children who are in conflict with the law and also cater for children who are not being looked after by their parents\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n This policy is expected to address issues on children who have commited offences, child victims, child witnesses and children who come into contact with the law in civil matters.<\/span><\/p>\n Nana Oye Lithur explained the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) last year <\/span>had over six thousand cases of children who were not looked after by their parents.
