{"id":135202,"date":"2015-07-16T14:38:55","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T14:38:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=135202"},"modified":"2015-07-16T14:51:45","modified_gmt":"2015-07-16T14:51:45","slug":"gma-roche-train-health-professionals-on-cancer-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=135202","title":{"rendered":"GMA, Roche train health professionals on cancer management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) in collaboration with Roche Ghana Limited have organised a workshop in Accra to train health practitioners on cancer management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop held under the theme \u201cOncology for non-oncology\u201d attracted a wide range of health practitioners which included medical doctors and nurses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/health-training-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-135215\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/health-training-5.jpg\" alt=\"health training (5)\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/health-training-5.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/health-training-5-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> at the workshop, the Deputy General Secretary of the GMA, Dr. Justice Yankson said the workshop will enhance the knowledge of medical practitioners on cancer management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He bemoaned the growing recorded cases of cancer in the country and was confident that the workshop will enable medical practitioners detect cases of cancer at the early stage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIn Ghana a lot of cancer patients report late to the hospital and cancer at the advanced level becomes difficult to treat. It is much easier to treat when detected earlier\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/health-training-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-135212\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/health-training-2.jpg\" alt=\"health training (2)\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/health-training-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/health-training-2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Yankson opined that the workshop was crucial to reduce the number of advanced cases in Ghana and as well create the necessary awareness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For her part, the Medical Manager for ROCHE Ghana Limited DR. Odette Kwarteng said the company was committed to providing the necessary support to facilitate cancer management in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cGlobally the company has been in existence for 119 years.
