An Accra Fast Track Court has placed an interim injunction on the GFA\u2019s Presidential Elections which were slated for the 18th of August in Tamale.<\/p>\n
Citi Sports<\/strong> checks at the Fast Track Court 3 confirmed that Justice Mustapha Logo issued the injunction after receiving an ex-parte motion filed by one lawyer Bright to restrain the the Ghana Football Association from holding the Presidential Elections.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”sfNWvWt9RWvtNtl0BWTbbdboBzvHyU2J”]The basis of the motion lay in the fact the according to the GFA\u2019s Statutes, the Presidential Elections were to be held after the district and regional elections.<\/p>\n However, the GFA\u2019s calender for September showed that the presidential elections were going to be held before the district and regional elections.<\/p>\n According to Metro TV\u2019s Henry Addo, who was at the court, Justice Logo granted the injunction after he was presented with copies of the GFA\u2019s constitution which confirmed Lawyer Bright\u2019s case.<\/p>\n The court has therefore asked the Ghana Football Association to appear in 10 days to respond to the motion. Background On Wednesday, a lawyer John Kwame Quayson, filed a suit to place a court injunction on the GFA\u2019s Presidentional elections.<\/p>\n Quayson, who said he was a football administrator, filed the case together with the Dynamic Heroes of Winneba to stop the elections from going ahead.<\/p>\n The Ghana Football Association was duly served with the suit.
