{"id":134944,"date":"2015-07-16T06:24:11","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T06:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=134944"},"modified":"2015-07-16T06:24:11","modified_gmt":"2015-07-16T06:24:11","slug":"ghanas-debt-burden-none-of-chinas-business-franklin-cudjoe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=134944","title":{"rendered":"Ghana\u2019s debt burden none of China\u2019s business \u2013 Franklin Cudjoe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Executive Director of IMANI Ghana, <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/07\/15\/china-rejects-ghanas-loan-request\/\" target=\"_blank\">F<\/a>ranklin Cudjoe has said the Chinese government has no business reminding government of its indebtedness.<\/p>\n<p>He made the comment while reacting to the Chinese government&#8217;s decision to turn down a loan request from the government of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese government has officially written to Ghana, stating that it will be<strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\"> unable to finance some road projects <\/span><\/strong>as a result of some unsettled debts hanging on its [government] shoulders smong others.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;eJfYdjsw886As6ng9qMx9RQuOoNtdNV8&#8243;]In a letter addressed to the Finance Ministry, the Chinese government indicated that \u201cit is not appropriate to utilize a Chinese concessionary loan to implement projects that may increase the debt burden of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However Franklin Cudjoe in a rebuttal said: \u201cfor me the issue about debt burden is for our [Ghana&#8217;s] internal discussion.
