{"id":134138,"date":"2015-07-13T18:21:55","date_gmt":"2015-07-13T18:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=134138"},"modified":"2015-07-13T19:16:30","modified_gmt":"2015-07-13T19:16:30","slug":"mahamas-silence-on-unlicensed-institutions-worrying-npp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=134138","title":{"rendered":"Mahama&#8217;s silence on unlicensed  institutions worrying &#8211; NPP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Days after the National Accreditation Board (NAB) published a <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/07\/10\/these-53-academic-institutions-operating-without-license\/\" target=\"_blank\">list of 53 tertiary institutions<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0that have been operating without proper certification, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is questioning the President&#8217;s silence on the matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe New Patriotic Party wishes to express its utmost shock at the loud silence of President Mahama and the NDC government on this very important matter of public concern,\u201d a statement signed by the party\u2019s General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong stated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;NsJNQsgzUUMcq3TEjZAdvl3jt69jSNlD&#8221;]They further charged government to take \u201cimmediate action to correct these anomalies, punish those found culpable as well as finding ways to mitigate the sufferings of unsuspecting students and parents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The NAB has explained that the 53 \u201cinstitutions do not have the mandate to award or issue academic or professional certificates, neither the institutions nor their programmes are accredited by the board.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But the NPP has argued that parents who had enrolled their wards in such schools are not any fault of theirs adding that\u00a0&#8220;the inaction and irresponsible attitude of the NAB poses a real threat to the status of tertiary education in the country.\u00a0The loss to individuals and companies has been enormous. Thousands of parents have been duped millions of cedis and youthful productive time wasted.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The NPP further assured\u00a0that they will use &#8220;all\u00a0legitimate means possible to hold the government accountable to protect the interest of the citizens of our dear country Ghana.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Below is the list of the alleged unaccredited institutions released by NAB<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Local Institutions\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n1.
