{"id":133208,"date":"2015-07-10T07:32:08","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T07:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=133208"},"modified":"2015-07-10T07:32:08","modified_gmt":"2015-07-10T07:32:08","slug":"prices-of-tomatoes-drop-further-in-ghana-markets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=133208","title":{"rendered":"Prices of tomatoes drop further in Ghana markets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The price of fresh tomatoes continue to drop in some major markets across the country this week.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;Cm656EVgTnFRgfvQKF7sAYvQ6WQm0JkR&#8221;]Checks by Esoko Ghana revealed that there has been a stable supply of the local tomatoes from the growing areas such as Tuabodom, Akumadan and Navrongo.<\/p>\n<p>A \u201cmedium size tomato tin\u201d full of fresh tomatoes sold about GHS 13.21 dropping 31 percent in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>In Kumasi it dropped 24 percent to close the week at GHS 7.00.<\/p>\n<p>Techiman experienced an 11 percent decrease to close at GHS 10.00, with Takoradi also loosing 6 percent to close the week at GHS 14.40.<\/p>\n<p>The commodity however gained 22 percent in Bawku to close the week at GHS 12.00.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, some commodities made marginal gains this week.<\/p>\n<p>The highest gain of 3 percent was made by cowpea and maize with an olunka of cowpea been sold at an average price of GHS 7.40 while maize was sold at GHS 4.50 per olunka.<\/p>\n<p>Wheat, however made losses of 9 and 1 percent respectively to close the week.<\/p>\n<p><em>Click on the link below for details of the commodity prices:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Commodity-Index_radio_10-July_2015.xlsx\">Commodity Index_radio_10 July_2015<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<br \/>\nBy: Citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The price of fresh tomatoes continue to drop in some major markets across the country this week.
