{"id":132248,"date":"2015-07-07T15:32:56","date_gmt":"2015-07-07T15:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=132248"},"modified":"2015-07-07T15:32:56","modified_gmt":"2015-07-07T15:32:56","slug":"put-ghana-before-political-parties-ohene-ntow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=132248","title":{"rendered":"Put Ghana before political parties &#8211; Ohene Ntow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ohene Ntow wants Ghanaian politicians to eschew what he calls \u201cneedless suspicions\u201d and put the interest of the nation above their parochial interest.<\/p>\n<p>This, according to him, is because members of a political party who are deemed to be flirting with other parties are treated as enemies in their own parties.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;QAnswZEFNFdHsVM1ZVFVOL2GWNveMa6g&#8221;]The practice to him, defeats the trust and consolidation of democracy promoted through interparty dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a joint symposium on interparty dialogue which gathered experiences from Kenya, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Ghana at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), the former NPP General Secretary asked politicians to \u00a0work together to promote the development of the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe as political leaders must decide that we represent something bigger than our various political parties.
