The 2016 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo has stated that the outcome of the July 7 Talensi by-election will determine the popularity of the two major political parties in Ghana.<\/p>\n
According to him, the NPP is ready to come back to power in 2016 and is working vigorously to wrestle power from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).<\/p>\n

Speaking at a rally to climax campaign activities in the area ahead of Tuesday\u2019s by-election, Nana Addo explained that the NPP is ready to come back to power after eight years in opposition because \u201cwe have a plan and a programme for the development of our nation.\u201d<\/p>\n
This plan he said, will create jobs for the youth in the country as well as \u201cimprove our agriculture and strengthen our farmers.\u201d<\/p>\n
As the people of Talensi head to the polls on Tuesday to elect a new Member of Parliament (MP), the NPP flagbearer was confident that his party will retain the seat.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn Tuesday the message will go out to the people of Ghana that the NPP will be retaining the Talensi seat\u2026 the NPP is on its way to victory,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile President John Mahama has also stated that the outcome of by-election will play a dress rehearsal<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/a>for the general\u00a0elections.<\/p>\n He said the election is very important because \u201cit is a dress rehearsal for 2016. Talensi is the dress rehearsal, the thermometer and the barometer for 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n The Talensi contituency has been the center of attention this past week as a result of the upcoming by-elections.<\/p>\n Party bigwigs in both the NDC and the NPP have pitched camps in the constituency to campaign for their respective candidates to win.<\/p>\n The President, John Mahama; his Vice, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and other party executives were present at the final rally on Sunday.<\/p>\n The NPP is being led by its flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and other party executives as well.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
