Four person who died in the June 3 flood and fire disaster in Accra have buried\u00a0 in the Ashanti Region .<\/p>\n
Their families, on Friday\u00a0 claimed the bodies of their deceased \u00a0in Accra for burial at Mampong Nsuta Beposo.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”vxWbDuLMSxPieIWGNbOt0IGX0F16ctok”]According to Citi News correspondent in the region, Loretta Tima the funeral \u00a0was attend by some government officials including the Regional Minister, Peter Anarfi\u00a0 Mensah, \u00a0Ebenezer Akuorko Frimping, District Chief Executive for Sekyere Central\u00a0 and Kwame Asarfo Adjei, Member of Parliament\u00a0 for Maampon Nsuta Kwaman, among others.<\/p>\n
The four were amongst the over 150 people who lost their lives in deadly floods that triggered a fire out break at the Goil Filing station at Circle.<\/p>\n
The Regional Minister, Peter Anarfi presented an amount of GHS 10,000 each to the families and indicated that all medical bills were borne by the state.<\/p>\n
Citi News gathered that a fifth body that was burnt beyond recognition is yet to be identified\u00a0 and claimed by the family.<\/p>\n
The regional minister assured that once identification has been made, the respective family would also be presented with some support from the government.<\/p>\n
President John Dramani Mahama directed the release of an amount of GH\u00a250 million to support victims after the disaster.<\/p>\n
This announcement came after heavy rains wrecked havoc in many parts of the city, rendering hundreds homeless and over one hundred dead in the floods and and inferno that engulfed the GOIL fuel station at the Kweme Nkrumah Circle.<\/p>\n
The money is to be used for humanitarian operations, repair of damaged public infrastructure, desilting of choked drains and clearing of waterways.<\/p>\n
