{"id":128627,"date":"2015-06-26T18:26:37","date_gmt":"2015-06-26T18:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=128627"},"modified":"2015-06-26T18:28:21","modified_gmt":"2015-06-26T18:28:21","slug":"ec-sets-new-dates-for-filing-of-nomination-for-district-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=128627","title":{"rendered":"EC sets new dates for filing of nomination for district elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In view of the preparations for the conduct of the parliamentary by-elections in the Talensi constituency, the Electoral Commission (EC) has rescheduled the dates for filing of nominations for the 2015 District Assembly and Unit Committee elections.<\/p>\n<p>A statement signed by the Deputy Chairman of Operations at the EC, Amadu Sulley noted that &#8220;the new dates for filing of nomination for the District Assembly elections are <strong>Monday<\/strong>, <strong>6<sup>th<\/sup> <\/strong>and <strong>Tuesday 7<sup>th<\/sup> July, 2015<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;9QJRzdYu5y6NanL9L6T9Ti4JdlKxDV3u&#8221;]Nomination for the Unit Committee elections will also be taken on <strong>Wednesday<\/strong>, <strong>8<sup>th<\/sup> <\/strong>and <strong>Thursday 9<sup>th<\/sup> July, 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Filing of nomination in the Talensi district of the Upper East region will however, take place on <strong>Thursday 9<sup>th<\/sup> and Friday 10<sup>th<\/sup> July, 2015<\/strong> for the District Assembly elections; while nomination for the Unit Committee elections will take place on <strong>Monday 13<sup>th<\/sup> and Tuesday 14<sup>th<\/sup> July, 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The statement which was signed indicated that nominations will be received by the Deputy Returning Officers (Special Duties) at the respective electoral area centres from <strong>9:00am<\/strong> to<strong> 12:00 noon <\/strong>and<strong> 2:00pm<\/strong> to<strong> 5:00pm<\/strong> on the aforementioned dates.<\/p>\n<p>The EC was however \u00a0quick to add that the date for the elections remains as <strong>Tuesday<\/strong>, the <strong>1<sup>st<\/sup> Day of September, 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It asked &#8220;all prospective candidates and the general public are to take note and comply with the new arrangements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In view of the preparations for the conduct of the parliamentary by-elections in the Talensi constituency, the Electoral Commission (EC) has rescheduled the dates for filing of nominations for the 2015 District Assembly and Unit Committee elections.
