{"id":128226,"date":"2015-06-25T13:35:17","date_gmt":"2015-06-25T13:35:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=128226"},"modified":"2015-06-25T13:57:28","modified_gmt":"2015-06-25T13:57:28","slug":"ghanas-own-umoja-set-to-thrill-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=128226","title":{"rendered":"Ghana\u2019s own Umoja set to thrill fans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Producers of the Key Soap sponsored Heritage Theatre Series have promised that their first\u00a0show, Wogb\u025b J\u025bk\u025b: The Birth Of A Nation, would rival the south African musical, Africa Umoja,\u00a0which was a huge success when it was staged in Accra a couple of years ago.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Wogb\u025b J\u025bk\u025b: The Birth Of A Nation, will tell the story of Ghana from ancient times to 1957 in a\u00a0two hour theatrical spectacle of dance, music and drama. The evening would be lit up with a rich\u00a0display of Ghana\u2019s culture and history, featuring the legendary stories of historical personalities\u00a0such as Ndewura Jakpa, Yaa Asantewaa, Agokoli, Kwame Nkrumah among many others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The producers are sparing no expense at making this an utterly breathtaking production. With a\u00a0cast and crew of about 150 people made up of dancers, singers, actors, poets, and\u00a0instrumentalists, this is certainly going to be one of the biggest theatre productions in the\u00a0country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Heritage-Theatre-Series1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-128252\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Heritage-Theatre-Series1.jpg\" alt=\"Heritage Theatre Series\" width=\"716\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Heritage-Theatre-Series1.jpg 716w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Heritage-Theatre-Series1-300x134.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 716px) 100vw, 716px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The series is written and produced by one of Ghana\u2019s outstanding young poets, Chief Moomen,\u00a0and directed by the BBC award winning playwright, Anima Misa Amoah and Abdul Karim Hakib, a\u00a0lecturer at the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana. It is choreographed by international\u00a0choreographers, Sena Atsuga and Baffour Awuah, a fellow of the Choreomundus International,\u00a0Norway and supported by a team of theatre professionals from the School Of Performing Arts,\u00a0University of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The production is on Saturday 4th July and Sunday 5th July at the National Theatre with two\u00a0showings each day at 4pm and 8pm.
