{"id":128211,"date":"2015-06-25T12:56:31","date_gmt":"2015-06-25T12:56:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=128211"},"modified":"2015-06-25T13:00:22","modified_gmt":"2015-06-25T13:00:22","slug":"we-will-be-fair-to-blakk-rasta-parliament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=128211","title":{"rendered":"We will be fair to Blakk Rasta &#8211; Parliament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Parliament has sought to defuse public expectations that members of the Privileges Committee of will virtually eat controversial reggae artiste and radio presenter, Blakk Rasta alive when he appears before them today [Thursday].<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Ranking Member of the Committee Nana Amoako told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> ahead of the hearing that if Members of Parliament (MPs) were going to crucify him, \u201cI don\u2019t think we would have invited the media to be there\u2026 We will be fair in listening to him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;gYqn4bGsYZ7YiIXm7MEc4DF2yK91tjrO&#8221;]Blakk Rasta has been summoned before the House for publicly stating that <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/06\/18\/black-rasta-dragged-to-parliaments-privileges-committee\/#sthash.GTAg3cZL.kjPv4Y6n.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>80% of MPs in the country smoke marijuana<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>hence it must be legalised.<\/p>\n<p>Blakk Rasta who seems excited for the invitation said he would use the opportunity to challenge the MPs on the subject of legalising marijuana.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Amoako said Blakk Rasta will only be required to substantiate his allegations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are investigating what he said about 80% of the MPs smoking wee so that is the reason why we have invited him to the Privileges Committee,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the Committee is making the hearing public to enable the media to observe the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>According to Nana Amoako, \u201cunless somebody is proven guilty, you cannot pronounce him as guilty in such matters so he [Blakk Rasta] will come and face the members, we will ask a few questions, the Counsel will advise him on what to say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot pre-determine what we will do about the case\u2026 Because we don\u2019t know what really informed his decision to say that,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Parliament has sought to defuse public expectations that members of the Privileges Committee of will virtually eat controversial reggae artiste and radio presenter, Blakk Rasta alive when he appears before them today [Thursday].
