B.T Baba has been elected by delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Talensi as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the by-election in July.<\/p>\n

Baba,a 67-year-old retired prisons officer and former chairman of Ghana Olympics committee, defeated four other candidates by polling 351 votes, 86 more than his closest competitor, Edward Awunnore.<\/p>\n

Charles Boazor polled 53 votes while James Atore and Rockson Aditiba failed to garner more than 8 votes between them.<\/p>\n

Baba will now face off against Thomas Duanab Wuni, who was declared winner of the NPP<\/a><\/strong><\/span>‘s primaries earlier on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The by-election to vote in a new MP for \u00a0Talensi\u00a0is scheduled for July 7.<\/p>\n
