Vodafone Ghana Foundation, the charitable arm of\u00a0Vodafone Ghana has offered free health screening to residents of Glefe, a\u00a0suburb of Dansoman as part of a medical outreach to flood victims and\u00a0residents of flood-affected areas in the Greater Accra Region.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”EdYYQjJKKYsKao5I8SXTIKW5AGqaWKmJ”]The screening programme, dubbed ‘Healthfest’ is in line with Vodafone\u00a0Ghana’s \u00a3100,000 package to support victims through blood donation\u00a0exercises, provision of relief items for displaced families and provision of\u00a0medical supplies to hospitals.<\/p>\n
Head of Vodafone Ghana Foundation, Nana Yaa Ofori-Koree said Vodafone is\u00a0activating its various health platforms to drive a public health education\u00a0campaign on the health impacts and risks associated with the floods,\u00a0especially cholera and typhoid.<\/p>\n
“Vodafone Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Ghana\u00a0Health Service will replicate the free healthcare initiative in Tema New\u00a0Town on Wednesday, 17 June; Nungua Coco Beach 20 June; and Accra New Town 24 June,” Nana Yaa added.<\/p>\n
Glefe residents expressed their appreciation to Vodafone Ghana for rallying\u00a0quickly to their aid with a medical team to treat them, counsel and comfort\u00a0them in their time of need.<\/p>\n
Since its establishment, the Vodafone Ghana Foundation has moved from just\u00a0funding projects, to investing in developing sustainable initiatives that\u00a0solve pressing social issues and benefit several communities in the country.<\/p>\n
Initiatives such as Mobile for Good have shown how technology can be used as\u00a0a medium to change lives.<\/p>\n
