{"id":125748,"date":"2015-06-17T13:55:15","date_gmt":"2015-06-17T13:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=125748"},"modified":"2015-06-17T19:19:29","modified_gmt":"2015-06-17T19:19:29","slug":"we-may-not-meet-doctors-july-deadline-health-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=125748","title":{"rendered":"We can&#8217;t give specific timelines on doctors&#8217; demands &#8211; Health Ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Health Ministry has expressed uncertainty about meeting the June 30 deadline to complete negotiations on conditions of service for public sector doctors.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;OAnEj56WFB8nA2wsv8eGpeNnC4Tuqu4y&#8221;]The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Tony Goodman said work is earnestly ongoing to ensure the document is ready but he is unable to determine if the document will be ready before the doctors embark on their planned strike in July.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Medical Association (GMA)\u00a0gave <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/04\/10\/well-fight-for-better-conditions-of-service-gma\/#sthash.4uz87Li4.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>the ultimatum<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>last year and has since been giving regular warnings to the government.<\/p>\n<p>Their <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/06\/16\/gma-issues-final-warning-over-planned-demo\/#sthash.l30UCy71.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\">final warning was issued on Tuesday<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0June 16, noting\u00a0that they have given government eight months to meet their demands.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Tony Goodman explained that the Ministry has done its part by sending the document to the appropriate institutions &#8211; the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, the Attorney General and the Public Service Commission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be difficult for me to say either today or tomorrow.
