{"id":125090,"date":"2015-06-15T14:36:34","date_gmt":"2015-06-15T14:36:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=125090"},"modified":"2015-06-15T15:17:53","modified_gmt":"2015-06-15T15:17:53","slug":"tema-npp-primaries-likely-to-come-off-on-june-27-elections-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=125090","title":{"rendered":"Tema NPP primaries set for June 27 &#8211; Elections Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Director of Elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah has stated that the party&#8217;s parliamentary primaries in the three Tema constituencies might be held on June 27.<\/p>\n<p>The 3 constituencies, Tema West, Tema East and Tema Central are among a host of constituencies with cases before the party&#8217;s Appeals Committee regarding candidate eligibility.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;FsIfGHCRG0bgdKyrFvXQalKoJEwoG4qV&#8221;]Thirty constituencies in all had their Parliamentary primaries <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/06\/12\/npp-defends-suspension-of-primaries-in-30-constituencies\/#sthash.OhBCXEpi.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>suspended<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0because of oustanding issues.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah explained that the date for the primaries for the other constituencies apart from the three had not been decided yet since\u00a0&#8220;some of them have court decisions on them and the court is asking for some elaborate work to be done on them before they can be cleared to contest.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He explained that in some other constituencies, the date had not been scheduled yet because &#8220;the contestants, in some cases MPs, have travelled on official assignments and had to request for postponement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Korsah was however quick to add that barring constituencies with court issues, all other cases should be resolved next week; paving the way for primaries to take place on June 27.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is also a pack that is before the National Appeals Committee. Hopefully those should be able to get some resolution before the time.
