A 27-year-old man, Samuel Ato, believed to be the leader of a robbery gang who robbed some residents of Kwashieman and Santa Maria, all suburbs of Accra and allegedly killed one Francis Thomas Anderson<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a graphic designer, has been arrested by the police.<\/p>\n

Suspect Ato, also known as Kofi Obeng Darko, was arrested when he attempted to sell some of the booty they allegedly robbed their victims of, at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”PDkJI4jrDDheqldlBiGSvuvcCzumqMlN”]He is now in the custody of the Accra Regional Police Command assisting in investigations after refusing to mention the names of his accomplices.<\/p>\n

Twenty-nine-year-old Francis Thomas Anderson, a graphic designer at Osu, was shot dead gruesomely<\/a><\/strong><\/span> when a gang of armed robbers stormed his house to rob him, after robbing three other houses.<\/p>\n

His pregnant wife, upon seeing the robbers, went into hiding in one of their rooms when her husband tried to prevent the gang from entering his apartment.<\/p>\n

Some residents who came to identify the suspect at the police station hinted that they suspected Obeng Darko to be among the gang that killed the young graphic designer.<\/p>\n

Chief Superintendent Paul Kontomah, the Accra Regional crime officer, told DAILY GUIDE that five victims \u2013 all living in Kwashieman \u2013 had reported to the police.<\/p>\n

The suspect, who is a steel bender, was released from prison through the \u2018Justice For All\u2019 programme recently.<\/p>\n

On May 31, 2015, at about 1am, the complainants said they were sleeping when the suspect, together with two others \u2013 now at large \u2013 armed with a double barrel gun, entered their houses and started robbing them from room to room.<\/p>\n

The first victim was robbed of his Iphone 6 which was gold in colour valued at GH\u00a22,800, a Michael Course Diamond black wrist watch valued at GH\u00a2300, a Tommy Hilfiger wrist watch valued at GH\u00a2300, a silver chain valued at 900 Rand, an Air Max canvass valued at GH\u00a2250, and a Pineng Power buck-up valued at GH\u00a2150 and an amount of GH\u00a21,300.<\/p>\n

The suspects moved to the second house where they allegedly robbed their victim of his Nokia mobile phone valued at GH\u00a250 and GH\u00a2800.<\/p>\n

The third victim was also robbed of his Iphone 5 valued atGH\u00a22,200, Air Max 2 pair of canvass valued at GH\u00a2600 and the sum of GH\u00a21,400.<\/p>\n

The suspects moved to the fourth house and robbed the victim of an HP laptop black colour valued at GH\u00a21,400, a Nokia mobile phone valued at GH\u00a250 and a Vodafone modem valued at GH\u00a270.<\/p>\n

The fifth victim was robbed of his Casio gold watch valued at GH\u00a2500, a Samsung watch mobile phone valued at GH\u00a2500, a gold chain valued at GH\u00a2300, 2014 Air Max canvass valued at GH\u00a2500, and a Samsung Tablet 3 (7.0) valued atGH\u00a2800.<\/p>\n

One of the victims, who sells mobile phones at the Nkrumah Circle, was said to be at his shop when Obeng Darko allegedly brought in the Pineng back-up and Royal power buck-up to sell.<\/p>\n

The victim identified the Pineng back-up as the one that was robbed from him and got closer.<\/p>\n

With a critical look, victim realized that the suspect was also wearing his Air Max canvass and Tommy Hilfiger wrist watch.<\/p>\n

The victim raised an alarm and Samuel Ato was apprehended and sent to the Odorkor police station.<\/p>\n
