Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako, alias Chairman Wontumi, is seeking bail for Maxwell Kofi Jumah who has been arrested.<\/p>\n

Kofi Jumah, a\u00a0parliamentary aspirant in the Asokwa Constituency,\u00a0was arrested for ripping up the voters\u2019 register <\/a><\/strong><\/span>being used for the primaries in the Constituency.<\/p>\n

Kofi Jumah reportedly took the decision because he suspected that the\u00a0register had been doctored to suit the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP),\u00a0Patricia Appiah Agyei.<\/p>\n

Citi News<\/strong>\u2019 Hawa Iddrisu reported that, Chairman Wontumi suspended elections in the Asokwa Constituency and headed to the Police Station.<\/p>\n

“Before he left, he officially asked the EC to suspend the election because the delegates say they won’t vote unless Kofi Jumah is released,” she added.<\/p>\n

The former Kumasi Mayor, Kofi Jumah was launching a comeback for the seat he lost to Patricia Appiah Agyei in the 2011 primaries.<\/p>\n

Already, the accusation and counter accusations that greeted the 2011 primaries had resurrected with Madam Appiah Agyei accusing Maxwell Kofi Jumah of employing \u201cunholy\u201d methods to unseat her.<\/p>\n
