An aspirant in the Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region,Kofi Jumah has been arrested for \u00a0allegedly ripping up the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) voters’ register.<\/p>\n

Citi News’<\/strong> Hawa Iddrisu reported that the aspirant took that decision because he claimed “the voters register had been doctored to suit the incumbent MP.”<\/p>\n

According to Hawa, supporters of Kofi Jumah were “very violent\u00a0 and served notice that they will resist any attempt by the EC and the party to use the voters’ register.”<\/p>\n

She revealed that voting has been put on hold until calm is restored.<\/p>\n

The NPP is voting today to elect parliamentary candidates for the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Kofi Jumah has been arrested.<\/p>\n

He was earlier arrested and charged with causing unlawful harm to one Jamel Agha, whom he accused of stealing his mobile phone.<\/p>\n

Back and forth between Kofi Jumah and Patricia Appiah Adjei<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former KMA Chief Executive was launching a comeback for the seat he lost to the incumbent Member of Parliament, Patricia Appiah Adjei in the 2011 primaries.<\/p>\n

Already, the accusation and counter accusations that greeted the 2011 primaries had resurrected with Madam Appiah Adjei accusing Maxwell Kofi Jumah of employing \u201cunholy\u201d methods to unseat her.<\/p>\n
